Transitioning to WBTV in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1988, she served as a reporter and weekend anchor before moving to WBFF-TV in Baltimore, where she focused on crime and street reporting.
Her career ascended when she became a full-time anchor at WJLA-TV, taking on lead roles in the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts from 1992 to 1996.
