    Throughout his career, General Munir held pivotal positions such as commanding the 23rd Battalion of the Frontier Force Regiment as a Colonel, serving as the Force Commander of the Northern Areas (FCNA) directly under General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and undertaking the responsibilities of Director-General of Military Intelligence (DGMI) from December 2016 to October 2018. He was subsequently appointed as the Director-General of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) by General Bajwa in September 2018.
